Orion began as a software developer in 1985. Orion was one of the first legal accounting software packages designed to run in a true multi-user, pc-based local area network environment. With new major releases each year, We have continued our commitment to keeping Orion software products at the forefront of software development for law firms.

As the number of installations has grown, Orion has sought to bring together the very best and talented individuals to expand and support Orion's software offerings. We have always been fully committed to hiring and training every Orion team member who serves our clients. No outsourcing. We believe that our customers prefer a single source for their software planning, conversion, installation, training and support.
This same philosophy is applied to the development of our software programs. All Orion software has been designed and developed by Orion employees with an average of 10 years tenure with our company. This has helped us achieve unprecedented integration in our products and a simple, straightforward user interface that is common to all applications in the Orion family.
Prinicpals
Paul G. Yelton, President
Paul Yelton has over 20 years of experience designing and developing multi-user accounting systems. He is responsible for all design and programming of Orion software. Paul has extensive experience with data conversion and project management, and is technically proficient in NetWare, Windows NT and UNIX environments.
Prior to joining Orion in 1992 Paul was a telecommunications consultant in California and was the lead developer of Decision Plus Accounting software. Paul received a B.S degree from California Polytechnical Institute at Pomona.
Cindy Shirley, Vice President - Customer Support
Cindy Shirley joined Orion in 1993. Her primary responsibility is client support for Orion's software. She has extensive expertise as a systems analyst and consultant for Orion, including the design and management of Orion's Call Management System.
Prior to Orion, Cindy had extensive experience in law firm software applications and automation design. She was a legal consultant with The Bellows Management Group and a paralegal for Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker. Cindy received her B.A. degree from Sweet Briar College. She also graduated with honors from the National Center for Paralegal Training.
Robin L. Rapkin, Director of Sales
Robin joined Orion in 2001. She is a graduate of the University of Miami, with an accounting degree.
Prior to joining Orion, Robin spent 15 years as the CFO and Legal Administrator in national and regional law firms ranging in size from 20 to 200 attorneys. Her understanding of law firm administration, workflow, legal time billing & accounting, and practice management are great assets to Orion and our clients. Robin works from our Florida location.
Terrence Koehn, Senior Programmer
Terrence joined Orion in 1991 when he was hired as the team leader for the programming department and the head of our California office. Terrence's creativity and programming genius is reflected in the look and feel of Orion's applications. He has written programs in C, Visual Basic, COBAL, DataFLEX, Delphi, and Pascal and first started programming on a consulting basis in 1983.
