Pervasive Software (NASDAQ: PVSW) is a leading provider of software for easily managing information in packaged business solutions, Internet applications and embedded nomadic devices. Developers worldwide depend on Pervasive for its powerful, high-performance zero-administration database and its reporting and data transformation tools.
Pervasive's corporate history began in 1982, when SoftCraft was founded to create the PC-based Btrieve data base and market it to commercial developers building business-critical applications. In 1987, Novell acquired SoftCraft to merge Btrieve with the Netware network operating system--and as Btrieve's popularity grew, other new products, such as Scalable SQL, relational database, were introduced to the market. Then, in 1994, the business was acquired from Novell and Btrieve Technologies was formed.
Renamed Pervasive Software in 1996 to reflect a growing worldwide presence, Pervasive completed its initial public offering in September of 1997. In 1998 the company acquired EveryWare Development, creator of award-winning web development and deployment solutions, and Smithware, Inc., developer of database development and reporting components.
Pervasive is headquartered in Austin, Texas with offices in Toronto, Frankfurt, Paris, London, Brussels, Dublin, Tokyo and Hong Kong. Click here to visit the Pervasive web site.
